Wise Old Man
This is my first portrait made in Singapore’s SMRT.This shot was my luck, and that time I knew I have to be ready for luck, so I saw this wise old man ,sitting alone, looking around innocently, being in a big contrast of old and young generation environment, it seems hard for him to be part of it.Ok,now I want to ask you all –What do You See, Do You Realize Anything, What do you feel, what do you ‘listen’ when you look at this photograph and why or what is it exactly that makes this photograph looks to be in a sad tone?! Think about it for a moment and let’s discuss it!! Yeah…. ^^

Good shot.
As to your questions. I have no definite answer. The man indeed seems to look sad but I often realise that the face can be a difficult thing to judge. Anyway, in this case I keep wondering what the man's face tells us. I haven't figured it out yet.

Outstanding shot. He looks like he could just be REALLY sleepy.
I like the "wise old man" characterization.
In America the wisdom that may be accrued through the years is frequently ignored.
He looks alone. His eyes are downcast and his mouth is set as if he feels very "resigned". Great photo.
He just looks sad to me and seems to be in deep thought. Maybe he's reminiscing the good old days when train fares were not so expensive.
I love the picture.
yea, great shot.
Maybe the old man don't look old at all.....
Hm...
From the face expression I see are lonely, having a sad story behide the family, hoping something miracle happen.
From the colour you adjust I see, eldest.
Good picture!
Very deep and strong photograph. Good shot man. I've always been a fan of black and white photographs it seems to capture the essence of the image being captured. Keep up the good work and thanks for checking out my blog.
That is a great picture. I wish that I could recognize moments like that. I am just not artistic at all. I guess it is because I am a programmer and just do not think like you. Anyway big ups to you. I am jealous.
I think everyone should be able to feel the "SADNESS", as described by the blogger, when you pay attention at the empty seats and the reflection on the window. There were people who rather stand all the way to their destination than sitting beside that old man. Perhaps, they perceived that an old man who dressed like him should come from a shabby shared flat unit and afraid that they might catch a deadly germ from him...perhaps.
NICE PICTURE!!
